I went to a drive through today, and they had a AI bot taking the orders. It looked really good and everything, the voice sounded
great, but it messed up the order. Super simple order also, they ended up overcharging me, total waste of my time, and they refunded
me back the money in cash. Cash? lol, seriously just put the money back on the card.
It got me thinking about this, there’s a principle here, a much larger idea, that seems totally lost on people now. Whenever anything is
attempted, and this scales from the smallest to the largest of things. One of the possible outcomes is the opposite, of whatever was intended.
Take this example today, I can’t think of one single time in the last 20+ years that I’ve went to a drive through, they messed something up and
they gave me a refund in cash. This looks very much to me like reversion. It’s totally possible that AI is actually not progress at all.
