What is this website?

This is the homepage of John A Blofeld.

What is the point of this website?

It has no point, it's nothing more that me messing around on the internet.

What is this running on?

A Debian Linux 13 VPS, with x1 core of an Xeon E5-2680 v2 (ancient) dedicated and 1024 MB of ram.

What software is this using?

All garden variety software installed with Debian Trixie. Nginx for the HTTP service, Maria DB, Textpattern CMS 4.8.8 (outdated), Skeleton.css (ancient). All in, it's using 394mb of ram (not bad).

How are you doing John?

I'm doing well, I've been working at the same place for many years, health is good. Getting old, but the mind is still a steel trap. This is about the extent of my personal life I want on the internet :).

What happened to your old site?

The people running the server, broke user space. You can see Linus explaining this here.

I thought the Internet was dead?

This theory has been going around for awhile now, some people seem to think so. I'm still on the fence about this.
